In recent years, sponsors have turned to emerging markets to include in their clinical trials. Attractions are numerous. Many of these countries have well-developed healthcare systems with reasonable facilities. For sponsors, there is a large potential patient pool because clinical research is relatively new to many of the patient populations in those countries. This is an attractive solution to the saturation that has been observed in developed markets. Lastly, but just as important in a world ruled by economics, the fact that it is much cheaper to conduct clinical trials in developing countries is a strong argument to bring trials to those regions.CONTINUE READING
